The Logistics
The area of Vermont where we’ll be having the celebration isn’t really a bustling urban center with multiple large hotel options. Additionally, we picked the date based on the fact that it’s prime foliage season, but that also means that rooms can be a lot harder to come by if you wait too long to book.
Luckily, we (Madelyn) have done a lot of legwork to come up with a list of available options. All of them can be found in a google spreadsheet, which we’ve embedded below. There are two tabs: Airbnb Listings, and Inns, etc.
We’ve had great success in using the Airbnb service. If you haven’t used it before, it’s a service that lets individual homeowners rent out part or all of a property they own. It sounds weird if you’ve never tried it, but it really can be a nice experience, and we (Madelyn) have done our best to vet the ones listed.
Most of these are either clustered nearby to the farm, or near the downtown center of Montpelier, since different people have different needs and wants around rural life versus urban amenities. A hint on that, for those not familiar with the area is that if it’s listed as being in Montpelier or Barre, it’s in a more populous area. Any other towns are likely to feel much more rural.
The Google Spreadsheet
Please indicate in the spreadsheet once you’ve taken the last of something (easy to do on the “whole house” options), so that others have a narrowed down list to work from.
